The castle in Dobczyce is a picturesque fortress located on a rocky hill above Lake Dobczyce, with a beautiful view of the surrounding area. Inside there is a museum with historical exhibits and an armoury, and a walk along the walls allows you to feel the atmosphere of bygone ages. Access by road bike is possible, although the last ascent is steep and it is better to overcome it carefully. It is worth combining a visit to the castle with a visit to the nearby open-air museum and a walk along the dam.

The open-air museum in Dobczyce is a small but interesting complex of wooden buildings from the 19th and early 20th centuries, located right next to the castle and the dam on the Raba River. You can see a forge, a village school and cottages with traditional furnishings, which provides a good background for learning about the history of the region. Access by road bike is possible, although the last section uphill can be demanding.

Freely accessible, secured and partially restored city walls with a tower and viewing platform. The city walls of Dobczyce date from the 14th-15th century. They have the floor plan of an irregular pentagon and surrounded the entire hill of the old town. The wall stones were made of local sandstone. The height of the wall is on average 9 m and its thickness is about 2 m.

The castle is closed on Mondays. The opening hours vary depending on the season. Current opening hours and prices: https://zamek.dobczyce.pl/ The former royal castle is located on a rocky hill by the Raba River reservoir. There was a wooden castle here as early as the time of the first Piasts. A Gothic castle was built under the rule of Kazimierz Wielki. The sons of Kazimierz Jagiellończyk stayed in the castle together with their tutor, Jan Długosz. The Niepołomice Museum exhibits an important painting depicting Jan Długosz with one of the king's sons. In the 16th century, under the rule of the Lubomirskis, the castle was rebuilt into a Renaissance residence. This residence was destroyed by the Swedes and Transylvanian troops. The castle was secured and partially rebuilt thanks to the efforts of PTTK (Polish Society for Tourism and Local Lore) members, especially the tireless Władysław Kowalski.
