Easy hikes and walks around Ostróda

The tower on Góra Dylewska is not the only one here - this one is higher! But it is a relay TV station with a tall mast - a bit too modern for this area... but it makes an impression - thin and tall. There is also a shelter and tables for a picnic next to it, so everything is fine.

It is not only the highest elevation in this region, but also in the whole of north-eastern Poland - 312 m above sea level. From the observation tower here there is a wonderful panorama, so it is not to be missed.

While the water features gently bubble up from the ground, you can make yourself comfortable on one of the surrounding benches. The small fountains provide a pleasant cooling effect, especially on warmer days, and conjure up a playful atmosphere. The sculpture in the center of the fountain attracts curious glances, while children frolic excitedly between the water jets. Even though it inevitably gets wet, the fun seems to be worth the small risk. A beautiful place that is ideal for a short break when exploring the city. The remains of the old chapel, which stand here on a grassy hill, provide an interesting insight into the history of the region. The walls made of fieldstones seem almost like a natural part of the landscape, surrounded by tall trees and green meadows. A quiet place that exudes a certain dignity despite its ruins.

The Grunwald Monument stands imposingly on the vast site, a memorial whose striking shapes and clean lines are a striking reminder of the Battle of Grunwald in 1410. It's worth taking a break here and enjoying the silence – apart from the occasional croaking of frogs or the buzzing of insects. The paths here can be muddy in places, especially after rain, so sturdy shoes are recommended. But that's precisely what makes this place so charming – it remains untouched and untamed. The observation tower here offers a beautiful panoramic view of the hilly landscape. The wooden stairs creak a little, which gives the tower a certain charm. Once you reach the top, you will be rewarded with a view that offers you a wide view over fields and forests - in good weather, all the way to the horizon. The information board on site will help you identify the surrounding villages and landscape features. In combination with the neighboring boulder gallery, which consists of interesting stone sculptures, this makes a worthwhile destination. The details in the stonemasonry are particularly exciting and give the place a certain mystique. Ideally, you should combine the visit with a hike through the surrounding forests to enjoy nature in all its diversity. The climb is definitely worth it. You should just be a little careful on the steps - they are sturdy, but one or two of the steps have seen better days.

The small bridge in the middle of the forest has its own charm. With moss-covered railings and a few loose leaves swaying gently in the light wind, it blends perfectly into the tranquil surroundings. Below, a narrow stream meanders, flowing quietly through the undergrowth, accompanied by aquatic plants moving in the light current.
