This trail was named after Chief Master Sergeant Richard Etchberger, who grew up in the area and was assigned to a top-secret CIA project known as "Project Heavy Green.". In 1968, he tragically lost his life during one of the bombing missions. This trail, dedicated to him, runs along the Schuylkill River and through Hamburg Community Park.

Climbing to this point requires navigating a steady incline and negotiating some rocky sections. However, the reward is well worth the extra effort, as the panoramic views of the State Game Lands Number 110 area are breathtaking.

Here we were able to observe the birds well with binoculars. How they hunt and how they use the thermals to soar. There are also wonderful people here who can explain to you a lot more about how you see what birds it is.

From here you can see different kinds of big birds and if you are lucky even eagles. The view is beautiful and you can enjoy the beauty of nature.

It was great to get some sun by this small reservoir. That would be also an easy place to reach from the parking and do a picnic.
