Jump Off Rock is the centerpiece of a small park in Laurel Park. The viewpoint is reached by a short trail which takes you to the platform that has amazing views of Western North Carolina.

More like a walk vs hike but good place to get some exercise in if you live close by.

The Park at Flat Rock has pavilions, playgrounds, a ton of open space, and walking/running trails. The village of Flat Rock manages the park, which is open during daylight all year long. The path circling the entire park is known as the Ed Lastein Perimeter Trail, but there are various other trails cutting through the park that are well maintained as well.

The crushed-gravel walking path at Rhododendron Lake Nature Park features different "fitness stations" along the trail. There are descriptions of how to do the exercises, and most of the stations are in shaded areas. The lake is just a small reservoir in some woods, but it's surrounded by beautiful groves of Laurel and Catawba Rhododendron.
