Nice stone bridge that takes you over a small creek that juts out from Jordan Pond. The bridge is part of Carriage Trail, and like the road, it is well maintained.

There are great views from Eagles Craig over the Cadillac Mountains. The hike up on the Cadillac South Ridge Trail is not too challenging, and it is definitely worth it once you reach Eagles Craig.

This is one of the easiest summits on Mount Desert Island, but the views do not disappoint. From the very top you can see north to Champlain, Dorr, and Cadillac mountains (from east to west), and you get views of Sand Beach from an overlook not far down. There are often lots of families with children on the trail in the summer. Those looking for more of a challenge should be sure to check out the Cadillac Cliffs Trail.

The ‘Hadlock Loop Carriage Road’ circular trail is approximately 6.5 km long. The entrances are on Highway 3 at the ‘Gatehouse’ at the ‘Lower Hadlock Pond’ and at the parking lot north of the ‘Upper Hadlock Pond’, where there are seasonal stops for the Island Explorer Bus. The ‘Carriage Road’ can be walked, cycled and ridden on horseback - e-bikes are not permitted. The eastern stretch is part of the approximately 18 km long ‘Around the Mountain Loop’ around Sargent and Penobscot Mountains. We walk along the road between the ‘Hadlock Brook’ and the ascent to the ‘Bald Peak’ on the trail of the same name and meet some cyclists. Two large bridge structures are on the route, the ‘Waterfall Bridge’ below the ‘Hadlock Falls’ and the nearby ‘Hemlock Bridge’. https://www.nps.gov/acad/planyourvisit/carriage-roads.htm
