The historic settlement of Jamestown has been recreated here. Is that all correct - or is it not based on the needs of a theme park? The replicas of the settlers' ships were interesting - how small the ships were (yacht format) and how many people PLUS livestock they carried with them! The "history actors" were embarrassing, i.e. extras who were stuffed into an old sack as "authentic" clothing.

Williamsburg was the capital of the Virginia colony from 1699 to 1780 and played an important role in the independence of the United States. Thomas Jefferson was also active here. Unbelievable what the guides there show and tell you. This is the first British settlement in USA of 1607 !!! If you are interested in American history an absolute must !!! The guide, who gave us the historic tour, was dressed like he was in the 1600's and told as if he had only arrived there a few years ... over an hour ... that was so interesting and entertaining, the time is easy gone.
