The lodge is also popular for its fantastic breakfast and lunch buffet. You have to make a reservation online to attend the buffet which is 25 Dollars per person. Trust me, its worth it!
If you are a PCT-Thruhiker, I recommend to send a resupply box here, since resupply options are very limited at the Lodge and it is quite difficult to hitchhike into town and back. Packages are held for hikers for a 10 Dollars fee. Note that ONLY FedEx and UPS deliver here! No USPS anymore.

The National Park was founded in 1902. Within the park you will find numerous hiking trails including an alternate of the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail (PCT), some campgrounds and lodges. Swimming and fishing is permitted and you can also join a boat ride to Wizard Island, the small island within the lake.
If you have a long distance permit for the PCT, you are not allowed to camp along the rim. The next legal campsite from Mazama Village is at the base of Grouse Hill. Otherwise you have to obtain an extra backcountry permit for Crater Lake National Park. You can send resupply packages to Mazama Camper Store in Mazama Village using the following address:

Great loop to take from any part of PDX. I cruise from NE take the east bank esplanade to the Springwater on the Willamette path to Oaks Park and the Sellwood bridge. Some near dirt trails off the path along the waterfront. You’ll see the occasional camper off the less travelled path but everyone seems to keep to themselves. Sellwood bridge has some nice views of the Portland skyline you cross the river and you can take the South Waterfront Greenway back to Downtown or the Tilikum Crossing Bridge. It’s a pretty nice and simple convenient way to see different parts of town and be off in your own world if you’re looking for a ride to clear your head at 7AM, 2PM or 3AM it’s always pretty quiet
