According to legend, the miraculous icon of Saint Panteleimon was found here on the site of the former Kazaviti. The healer Saint Panteleimon is said to have stayed in a cave here. The cave still exists today and is located not far from the monastery complex. Water springs from a natural pool here, which, according to the faithful, has miraculous properties.

The enchanting beaches of Agios Georgios by the azure sea The picturesque surroundings of Agios Georgios, full of pine and olive groves, create the conditions for a pleasant holiday in the company of beautiful fauna and flora. The environment is perfect for long walks, for example to the largest lake of the island, Korission, where you will be captivated by the sight of wading birds and from where you can also watch the sunset. The resort of Agios Georgios can be found on the southwestern coast of the Greek holiday paradise of Corfu, the second largest island in the Ionian Sea. This quieter resort attracts visitors with its surrounding nature, beautiful beaches and many tourist destinations within easy reach. Beware of the confusing name - another village in the north of the green island also has the same name (meaning St. George).
