This military cemetery was created in 1876 after the defeat of General Custer's 7th Cavalry Regiment. It houses some of the dead from the Battle of Little Big Horn which took place in Montana. This famous site is called the Battle of Greasy Grass by the Arapahoes, Cheyennes and Lakotas. They were victorious on June 25 and 26, 1876. The cemetery also houses American dead from the First and Second World Wars. From the cemetery, there are some nice views of Bear Butte and the plains as well as the Black Hills.

Sabre connects to the Gauntlet in the north and Centennial Trail in the south. This narrow, singletrack trail - rutty at times - runs parallel to the freeway for a bit before leading past a small pond and connecting to the Gauntlet and Valor. Relatively flat with few technical portions, this trail is a nice addition to an easier ride in the Sturgis area.

Centennial Trail is arguably the top MTB trail in all of South Dakota. This section of the trail between Alkali Creek Trailhead and Fort Meade is the most fun part of the trail! It is the essence of Centennial Trail and leads you through a variety of prairie and forested areas. This portion of the trail can be done in either direction and offers beautiful views of Bear Butte and the Black Hills as well as endless prairie.
