A very beautiful place in itself, but the path before and after the waterfall requires sturdy shoes and a fair amount of climbing ability. The textile and wire ropes make it really steep and strenuous.

The largest village in the Šavrinski Hills is said to have gotten its name from the cultivation of apple trees (pomi), which once grew in the warm and wind-protected area below Mount Pomjan. The area is fertile and water-rich, surrounded by the valley of the Badaševica and Rokava rivers, a tributary of the Dragonja River. It has been a popular meeting place for travelers since ancient times. In Roman times, the main road to Pula ran through Pomjan, as evidenced by numerous archaeological finds. The settlement is home to the parish church of St. George, with its unusual bell tower, as well as the small church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary, which contains remains of 15th-century frescoes and Glagolithic inscriptions, the oldest of which dates back to 1439. The preserved frescoes are the most valuable of the medieval wall paintings in the Koper hinterland. http://revitas.org/de/touristische-spaziergange/natur-kultursehenswurdigkeiten/pomjan-natur-park-kraski-rub-socerb,39/pomjan,87.html

Unfortunately, the river and waterfall had dried up when we were there. This will probably happen in heat phases like August 2023. So don't be disappointed...
