Nice cycle path through the woods. With oncoming traffic, it is sometimes a bit narrow.

Long and straight, boring you might think. But there's plenty of variety along the way.

The history of De Zwaan dates back to 1884. That year, an octagonal belt mill was built on what is now Dennenlaan. When a church was built a stone's throw from the mill around 1900, the miller was unhappy. The church caused significant wind obstruction, which negatively impacted production. In 1902, the mill was finally moved to another location in the village. After being hit by a grenade during World War II, restoration proved too costly, and after being demolished in 1964, the mill was shipped in sections to the US and rebuilt in Holland, Michigan. Construction of the current mill began in 2014 with the help of donations and subsidies. Thanks to the hard work of many volunteers, the new Zwaan was completed and operational in 2020. Rye, spelt, and wheat are ground there for local bakers and for local consumption. A cozy café has been set up beneath the mill where people can enjoy lunch. Souvenirs are also for sale.
