The reservoir was built between 1976 and 1979 to prevent flooding and inundation in the Kinzig valley.

Unspectacular, as is often the case with springs. You often think, "Wow, what is that?!" But every river begins as a small spring.

Nice snack bar with cakes and simple yet delicious grilled dishes, as well as hot and cold drinks. A lovely terrace and children's playground. Clean restrooms. An ideal place to stop for a break on the R3 bike path from Fulda toward Frankfurt.

A very nice stretch of road. It's a great place to let the road roll 🚴💨 The asphalt is good, and traffic is absolutely light. At least, that was the case when I was here. On a Saturday, I only encountered one car passing me.
