Aidenbach is known for the Peasants' War of 1706, the last stand of rebelling Bavarian peasants against the Habsburg imperial occupation. Today, the small town is a worthwhile stop for some memorable photos of the market square and a visit to one of its restaurants. www.aidenbach.de

Information board about the 🥒 cucumber harvest: The cucumber and its plane. I think this work is one of the hardest jobs we have. The workers who harvest the cucumbers deserve absolute respect!

Around 1120, an Augustinian canons' monastery was founded in Aldersbach; just 26 years later, Cistercians from the Ebrach monastery took it over and consecrated the monastery to Saint Mary, Mother of God. In 1803 it was nationalized. Today's complex includes the church with the parish area, a brewery with a restaurant and an educational facility with seminar rooms. You can spend the night in the former monks' cells. Events such as concerts take place regularly in the Aldersbach Monastery. http://www.kloster-aldersbach.de/

A 13 km long cycle path (more or less identical to the Vilstalradweg) with 2 gates. The counterpart to the gate in Aldersbach is in Vilshofen near the boat harbor on the Danube. Was named after the Bavarian State Exhibition 2016 "Beer in Bavaria". In Aldersbach, the gate consists of 76 soda and beer boxes.
