The dam itself is more than 100 years old, but is no longer in use. Instead, two bridges were built connecting the dam to the mainland in the east and west. When you walk across Bagges Damm, you feel like you are strolling right in the middle of Ringkøbing Fjord. Beautiful scenery awaits you as far as the eye can see. In addition to the panoramic view of the fjord and the surfers on the water, you can see all the way to Søndervig in the north and the old trading town of Ringkøbing in the southeast.

The bike path is difficult to ride here. Lots of loose, coarse gravel.

In August 2025, the road was easy to navigate, partially sheltered from the wind, and much more pleasant and safer than the country road!

It's just the entrance to Søndervig, not really spectacular.

I find the huts where you can shower, eat, and go to the toilet in a sheltered environment particularly interesting.

The route from the country road to the surf spot is not very nice, but the view over the fjord makes up for it.

A very large church, at least for the village. The congregation members apparently come from the surrounding area. The war graves in the eastern part of the cemetery are impressive; here lie sailors from the Battle of Jutland and Australian pilots. Their Lancaster was shot down by a German night fighter just north of here near Stadil.

Completely overgrown, but a little water was visible 😉
