The path along the shore of the beautiful Hellsee offers magnificent views, especially in autumn. However, at one point the circular route veers off in a wide arc into the hinterland. Only there is a rest area to be found; there are virtually no rest areas at the lake itself. On the full tour, there is the opportunity to make a short detour to the idyllic little Plötzensee. There are only a few suitable swimming spots at Hellsee: one near the village of Hellmühle (often occupied by anglers) and the other at the northwestern end (approximately 300 meters from the tip and Lanke Castle). This shady but very idyllic spot can be reached very quickly from the southern end of the village of Lanke, roughly opposite the side street "Am Waldhang." This turnoff/access point is from Bernauer Straße.
