The village center of Ranoldsberg is a picturesque, idyllic meeting place, particularly characterized by the pilgrimage church of Mariä Himmelfahrt. The late Gothic hall church (built in 1507) forms the historical center with the historic rectory from 1701.

Quiet side street that leads directly to the market square of Gerzen. From there, you can wonderfully join the Vils cycle path.

A three-story Baroque mansard-roofed building. This imposing Baroque palace boasts a round church, unique in the district. A precursor to the Early Renaissance, dating from around 1540. The Barons Eckher zu Kapfing had the noble residence rebuilt as a Baroque palace around 1720. Since the builder was a nephew of the Prince-Bishop of Freising, Johann Franz von Eckher, the building also served as a summer residence for the Prince-Bishops when they were traveling in the area.

Saint John the Baptist (also John the Baptist), to whom this church is dedicated, is – like Saint Joseph – a man on the threshold between the Old and New Testaments. His parents are Zechariah and Elizabeth. After the proclamation of the Incarnation of God through them, the Mother of God visits her relative Elizabeth, who, in her old age, will give birth to a son, John the Baptist. John the Baptist is six months older than Jesus and is considered his forerunner. He lives in the desert, preaches repentance from sin to the Jewish population, and baptizes them in the Jordan River. Jesus also comes there to be baptized, where he is filled with the Holy Spirit, who descends upon him from heaven. The feast day of Saint John the Baptist (Baptist) in the calendar of saints is June 24, exactly six months before Christmas Eve.
