@bobutz2111 I'm afraid I have to disappoint you: it was "just" a regular Beetle... No wheel reduction gears on the rear axle, no lever-type shock absorbers, and the Kübelwagen didn't have bitumen insulation mats on the center tunnel. But based on the (collar-bolted) front axle, you can see that it's a Beetle from before 1965, a so-called "Dickholmer" (big-body).

Always fantastic in good weather. There are both gravel and road-bike-friendly routes. On weekends, due to the many walkers, it's recommended for leisurely riding.

The Nordbahntrasse is easy to drive and a good connection route between the Ruhr area and the Bergisches Land

Unfortunately, this trail is a nature reserve. On my last tour, I spoke to the rangers in charge of the Mettmann district, who confirmed that both banks of the Dickelsbach are nature reserves. So please don't walk or drive there anymore!

A brilliant tour along the Nordbahntrasse and Kohlebergbahntrasse. Lights are a must because of the many tunnels!
