This is the Dommel, the river over which a hay bridge has stood for centuries. Now, the bridge is part of a beautiful walking and cycling route. It used to be a functional crossing for farmers who grazed cattle and brought in crops on both sides of the Dommel.

The Vresselse Bos is a 250-hectare forest east of Nijnsel in North Brabant. Owned by the Dutch Forestry Commission (Staatsbosbeheer), the forest is located in the Het Groene Woud National Landscape and is named after the hamlet of Vressel. It was established in the 1920s as a reclaimed forest on a three-meter-high drifting sand ridge, with primarily Scots pine as production forest.

Don't drive too close to the edge. Steep Dommel bank, but very beautiful.

A lovely bike path straight through the Kampina region. Easy to navigate, but overtaking is more difficult for our trikes. You can ring your phone, but they often don't hear it, or you can use your horn, which they do hear but often think is a car behind them.
