The Kolberg lighthouse was rebuilt after the Second World War – i.e. after 1945. It stands on the right bank of the Persante river on the remains of Fort Münde, which was part of the Kolberg fortress. Its predecessor, a pilot house with a lighthouse, was destroyed at the end of the Second World War. The lighthouse is 90 meters high and has a surrounding gallery that is open to visitors. Its interior houses the Mineral Museum (Muzeum minerałów) and a restaurant. The small sculpture „Marian GOCC‑Volunteer“ is one of the charming art figures scattered around Kołobrzeg's old town. It commemorates a volunteer of WOŚP – the „Great Christmas Charity Orchestra“, one of the most well-known Polish charity initiatives. The figure was personally unveiled by Jurek Owsiak in the city center. It's a short, likeable stop: a piece of modern urban identity that shows how vibrantly and humorously Kołobrzeg stages its everyday culture in public space.
