The giant’s kettle is a deep, rounded hole in the bedrock created during the last Ice Age. Glacial meltwater with swirling stones and gravel eroded the rock over thousands of years, leaving behind a smooth, cylindrical pothole. This one is perhaps the most impressive example in all of Sweden. The visible hole has a depth of about 4 meters, and beneath it is a second, smaller kettle roughly 2 meters deep — nested inside the larger one, which is quite rare. You can see the twisted grooves and polished walls that are evidence of the abrasive action of stones tumbling in swirling meltwater under the ice. Be careful you don't slip into the kettle, especially when it's wet!

The Landsort battery is sometimes referred to as gun #3 because it was part of a series of six built at strategic coastal locations around Sweden. The Landsort battery has been declared a protected historical site to preserve Cold War military history. The underground facility is built into solid rock, open to visitors by guided tour in the summer months (usually June–August).

Landsort Lighthouse marks the southernmost point of the archipelago. The stone lighthouse was completed in the 1680's and has survived attempts to burn it down — including during the Russian raid of 1719. The tower is about 25 m (82 ft) tall.

A quiet stretch of coastal forest and rocky viewpoints just outside Nynäshamn. Käringboda Nature Reserve is known for its mix of old pine woods, blueberry-covered ground, and open cliffs overlooking the inlets of the Baltic Sea. Well-marked trails lead past small bays, sheltered forest sections, and scenic hills like Vinsberget. A great spot for a peaceful hike with a proper archipelago feel.

We found a great spot here 😍 Many lovely places to swim in the summertime with stunning views overlooking the water. The path could have had the trailsigns closer together on the hike, but with maps and komoot it was not a problem. Several trails merge, so the signs color change.
