It's about a 30-minute walk from the Mutteralmbahn cable car to the alpine hut, and the path is stroller-friendly. If you like Kaiserschmarrn, we only serve it Monday through Friday. No chance on weekends. I would have loved to try one, but we were too early. But despite all that, I would still recommend the alpine hut.

You can reach the Birgitzer Alm via great trails, but make sure that the paths are also used by hikers. From the Alm's sun terrace you have a great view of the Axamer Litzum and the Nockspitze while you treat yourself to a hearty snack. You can find more information and opening times here: https://www.birgitzeralm.at/.

The most famous structure of what is probably the most important inner-European transport link across the Alps. You can walk along the shoulder to about the middle of the bridge. It's interesting to see how the vehicles struggle up the path. Here and there a truck driver waves back or honks when we wave. As with every bridge, you can feel the vibration of the traffic as soon as you stand still - fascinating.
