Take a torch and on the west side of the Kiln nearest the business park there is a brick ladder cut into the side and you can access the roof.

Just off this walk through the gate, we didn't choose today to go down to see the waterfall. Just be aware that you need to re-trace your steps to get back in the track (THERE IS NO EXIT AT THE BOTTOM)

This challenging ascent from the small town of Settle into the Yorkshire Dales is well worth the effort. Keep pushing forward, as the breathtaking views from the top make it all worthwhile.

A good path follows the river and makes for superb trail running - sometimes rocky, sometimes muddy and up and down from the riverfront to the top of the steep banks - definitely worth a visit

A scenic packhorse bridge crosses the river here before it flows over this large waterfall right next to the riverside path. Come on October and you might just see salmon leaping up it to spawn higher up the river
