The castle in the air is part of the International Forest Art Trail, created in 2012 by Anne Berlit, the 6th Int. forest art trail. A few of the pictures in this highlight show the "Forest House" and not the castle in the air.

It all began in 1925 with the hunting lodge of the Persian Consul General Mayer. At first there was only the simple shelter. But as early as 1929/30, a barrack and the tower were built in-house. The Nazis banned the NaturFreunde immediately after they seized power in 1933. The hut was used by the Hitler Youth and largely destroyed. But soon after 1945, the Americans approved the restart. In 1960, the Friends of Nature house, which was again built in-house, was inaugurated. Due to a lot of expansion and renovation work, we see our Moret in very good condition today. Volunteer members and friends run the restaurant on Wednesdays and Sundays. The hiking home has a lounge, a self-catering kitchen and 32 beds in 8 rooms. Groups of children and young people use the house during the week, and citizens celebrate their festivals here at the weekend. The NaturFreunde Dieburg celebrate their 100th anniversary in 2025. From their history, they are a non-partisan but political association that combines social components with culture and the preservation of nature. This is reflected in the encounters between people, the regular organization of hikes and bike tours as well as the implementation of cultural events and excursions.
