Burra Voe Pier and Marina makes a great starting point for a hike around the local area. Offering parking, toilet facilities and at the caravan and camping site a very cool shop, the roof of which is made from one of the lifeboats from the SS Canberra.

Vidlin is a small fishing village centred around the busy marina. There is a ferry terminal for trips to the Out Skerries. The village shop and hall share the same building and are a useful snack stop. The church built in 1753 is one of the oldest still in use in Scotland.
