Not only the transmission tower, but also the wide view is simply fun.

There is no path that leads past here, you have to want to get here. The last 100 m lead from the SW over a meadow path. Does the inscription mean that a place of pilgrimage was created here? In any case, a very quiet place with a very beautiful view.

Erected on May 11, 2024 by the local community of Waigandshain. A somewhat remote, beautiful little corner! Only five meters in height separate the "Aale Bersch", as we say so beautifully here in Low German, from its immediate neighbor, the Fuchskaute. This is an extinct volcano and, at 657 m above sea level, the highest mountain in the Westerwald.

Here in this spot in the valley you can't expect a great view. If you look closely, you can still see the remains of the former grass track racing track in the grass. You can get a view from the southern side of the Fuchskaute near the former lodge.

The Fuchskaute Nature Reserve is a significant natural feature. It's a basalt plateau with meadows, where the harsh climate and traditional pasture use have created an ecosystem similar to the Alps. This reserve is home to nearly 300 species of flowering plants and trees, 300 butterfly species, and almost 50 different bird species.
The Alter Berg summit cross is a man-made monument erected by the municipality of Waigandshain, offering a quiet spot with beautiful views. The Galgenberg Summit Viewpoint, while offering great views, also has historical significance as a former place of execution, marked by a notice board.
