The Carron Fish Bar is not only a typical British fish and chips take-away, but apparently it is the place where back in 1992 the „Deep Fried Mars Bar“ has been invented. Address: 1 Allardice Street, Stonehaven

Beautiful cliff top walk, spotted a few puffins. The noise of the birds is amazing, thousands of them. Well worth a visit.

From the small car park walk down past the gate to Fowlsheugh and to the end of the road. A second costal path leads down the side of a field to a good viewpoint to the falls. The cliff edges are exposed and can be slippy.

A beautiful ruin. A must-see. Of course, there are more than just tourists here

Of all the castle ruins I visited in Scotland, Dunnottar Castle was my favorite. The ruins were visited by only a few tourists, so there were no crowds of tourists. Its location on a rock in the sea makes it look very imposing, majestic, like a crown over the sea. Of course, it is connected to a lot of Scottish history. To reach the castle ruins, you should wear sturdy shoes and watch the path to avoid falling. Entry costs £11 and can only be paid by card.
