Great walks along the old railway line from Aberdeen to Ballater with great views of the river. While many cyclists share the path responsibly, many don't especially during the rush hours where the old railway line is a useful traffic free route and some seem to want to shave a couple of seconds off their PB during their commute.

The Lang Stane of Auquhollie is an Ogam-inscribed standing stone some 6 kilometres north-west of Stonehaven in Scotland. Situated on south side of Meikle Carew Hill at a height of about 140 metres above sea level, the stone is approximately 3 metres in height and 0.75 metres in diameter, an unshaped monolith of gneiss. - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lang_Stane_of_Auquhollie - https://www.megalithic.co.uk/article.php?sid=10150

A good place to go for a walk in Aberdeen away from traffic. Wheelchair accessible and good tarmac surface for several miles. Can be busy with cyclists.

The park is a great place for a run, both as a destination or as a training ground. There are several paths here and you can spend your entire run here. Also the Deeside railway line ends here, and it is just by the river, allowing it to be used as a destination when running along either of these other routes.

The mound is an old feature of Duthie park, and is a good training focal point. The path up the hill is tarmac, and there are also some steps around the back.

You can reach Stonehaven Station very easily, since there are lot of trains a day stopping here. If you choose Stonehaven as your finale destination on the TGO Challenge, expect a half hour ride into Montrose from here.
