Tips from the Community

Rafał Klisowski

The construction of the church took place in the context of the intensive development of Evangelical church architecture in Bydgoszcz and its suburbs at the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century. At that time, eight Evangelical-Union churches were erected in this area, mostly in neo-Gothic style, faced with red brick. The Evangelical-Union parish in the Łęgnowo area existed before 1885, and Lutheran faithful lived in this area as early as the 18th century. At the beginning of the 20th century, the parish obtained permission to build its own temple. The work on the construction and equipping of the church was carried out in the years 1910-1911. During this time, an Evangelical cemetery was also established in the central point of the village, which is now disused.

It is a residential complex consisting of two palaces (the Old Palace and the New Palace) and a beautiful park. It is also a cultural and recreational center. There is even a museum of old, historic pianos!
