The marketplace in Frohburg is a feast for the eyes with beautifully renovated facades, the Roten Hirsch, the magnificent town hall and the Centaur Fountain. The Centaur Fountain is an ornamental fountain in the middle of the Frohburg marketplace, which was erected in 1899. The 1.06 m high structure was created by the Dresden sculptor August Hersig and depicts a centaur (half human, half horse) in a fight with the threatening Lindworm (Greek mythology). The fountain is made of solid bronze, was to be melted down for armaments in World War II, but was bought by private individuals and thus saved. In 1953 it was discovered in a Leipzig garden and brought to Frohburg. In 1998 it was extensively renovated.

Unfortunately, this trail is no longer passable. The harvester has completely destroyed this beautiful path. Tons of trees have been felled and uprooted; the trail is no longer recognizable. (As of February 27, 2026)
