🏘️ Platten is an idyllic wine village that is often mentioned in connection with the Moselle, but strictly speaking lies in the picturesque side valley of the Lieser – only about 4 km from the mouth of the Moselle.

The wooden bridge over the Lieser River at this point has a few steps on the side (street) opposite the villa. There's no ramp (side ramp). Getting up there with a heavy e-bike is almost impossible without extra effort (removing batteries, taking off luggage, etc.). Even then, you'd probably have to use the e-bike push assist, and we haven't tried how well that works. Conclusion: Don't plan an e-bike route towards the villa that includes this bridge. PS: The opposite direction, from the villa across the Lisa River to the street, could work, but that would also be a "heavy" undertaking in my opinion. PPS: Simply carry bio-bikes up on your shoulder 😊

In summer, only e-bike egos are on the road – nasty situation! 😅

Good shortcut if you want to go directly to Wittlich and don't want to go via Wengerohr ;) Past the old Rothmühle and then just go straight ahead at the roundabout!

Here you can see the Zeltinger Sundial. The term Zeltinger Sundial refers to a German vineyard in Zeltingen, a district of the municipality of Zeltingen-Rachtig on the Moselle. The wines grown on this 21.5-hectare single vineyard (predominantly Riesling) are renowned throughout the region. The site is steep and slopes south-southwest. The vines thrive on Devonian and slate soils. The Zeltinger Sundial single vineyard is part of the Münzlay large vineyard. Source: https://de.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zeltinger_Sonnenuhr
