The parking lot is at the front by the road, the barbecue area to the left of it, down the path. The path that leads from the barbecue area into the bush is not for cyclists. Some intelligent people throw logs, branches onto the path. They probably think it's their private property.

Beautiful historic farm with museum

In an extensive garden area with a farm garden, a dyer's plant bed and a well, there are historical half-timbered buildings from the 17th to 19th centuries, which were typical of the southern Lüneburg Heath. Since the (home) club was founded in 1979, they have been dismantled at their old locations and re-erected on the museum grounds. Farm life in the olden days: The Winser Museumshof in Winsen (Aller) is a beautiful destination in the Lüneburg Heath. Here the visitor learns everything about traditional life in this region before there was electricity, running water and large machines. The season in the Museumshof Winsen (Aller) traditionally begins at Easter. Until the end of October, the open-air museum on Brauckmanns Kerkstieg conveys all sorts of interesting and exciting things about rural history in the southern Lüneburg Heath. It is assumed that there were already bridges in Winsen (Aller) around the year 1000. Winsen used to be at the intersection of two important trade routes: the north-south military route came from Lübeck and led to Frankfurt am Main - the east-west connected Bremen and Braunschweig. There was heavy traffic on both streets. At Winsen there was a ford through the Aller and that alone was an attraction. Around 1300, the Duke of Celle had a wooden bridge built, making Winsen even more important. After the bridge was destroyed in the Battle of Winsen in 1388, the Duke of Celle had it rebuilt and guarded by a protective force consisting of 45 armed men and 20 archers. Since the old wooden bridges did not have a long lifespan, the wood soon rotted, ships & ice damaged it, information about the construction/reconstruction of the bridges and maintenance is missing for a long time. The wooden drawbridge built in 1726 crossed the Aller until 1924. In 1924, the dilapidated, 200-year-old drawbridge was replaced by an iron structure - the Hindenburg Bridge. It was blown up by German troops in April 1945 to make the English advance more difficult. A temporary bridge was built under the direction of the English troops within a few days. The Bailey Bridge, the English Bridge near the Winsern, now makes it possible to cross the Aller. The current bridge was built in 1963. The construction costs amount to 850,000 DM. Transfer over the Aller is highly recommended. The metal bridge at the waterworks and the lock bridge offer great views and are an experience in themselves.
