Krapina has been known since 1193. It has always been a favorite site for castles and country houses of Croatian and Hungarian rulers. In the first half of the 15th century, it was an important center of the Counts of Celje, who additionally fortified the town and expanded the nearby castle. Later, it came into the possession of the Keglević family. In the late 19th and early 20th century, Krapina was a district capital in Varaždin County of the Kingdom of Croatia-Slavonia.

The Krapina parish is the oldest of all under the archdeacon of Zagorje. It is presumed that Krapina became a parish as early as 1193 when Kalan, the bishop of Pécs, issued the order that Dominic, the bishop of Zagreb, and his successors be given one tenth of all the income which had been collected up to that point in Krapina by the Croatian duke. St Nicholas’ Parish Church was first mentioned in the charter of the Zagreb bishop Augustin Kažotić on 6 July 1311 (and later in 1334, 1501 and 1574). It is not known exactly when the old parish church in the gothic style was built because it was unfortunately destroyed. A new parish church was built in its place between 1901 and 1903, incorporating a small part of the old church – the sacristy with a gothic ceiling which is located below the tower. The entrance to the sacristy still holds the late-gothic jamb with a flat arch. One of the founding stones carries the inscription “Ich Jorg Crewcz”, which is thought to be the name of the architect.

The existing school building was built by the citizens of the Croatian free market of Krapina in 1911, thanks to the great merit of Vilibald Sluga, the head of the royal free and historical market of Krapina. The foundation stone was laid in September 1911, and the roof of the building was already around Christmas. School year 1912/1913. it started in the new school building. In that school year, a total of 127 students (62 boys and 65 girls) attended the school.

The Church of the Holy Trinity is a Roman Catholic church in the town of Krapinska Toplice, a protected cultural asset. Description of the good The church is located in the old center of the village on a hill. It was built by Josip Lebenvein in the period from 1829 to 1832, while the tower was built in 1855. The floor-plan and spatial layout consists of the entrance area above which rises the belfry, the nave and the sanctuary closed with a shallow semicircular apse. The outer surface of the walls is articulated with a window cornice and a cornice that describes the window arches themselves, while the main facade is defined by a belfry, a simple biforum and two niches with statues of St. Peter and Paul. Since 1857, it has been gradually equipped with inventory, and it represents an excellent example of complete neo-style furnishing of church interiors in the period of the second half of the 19th century.
