Bike Path from Road 102/104 Junction to Punat

Highlight (Segment) • Cycleway

On this segment, there is a really nice bike path that follows the road. Unfortunately, it stops in Punat so if you are going to Baška you have to ride on the road again.

I think that the whole length of this bike path is somewhere from the crossing of the 102 and 104 roads til Punat.

Punat Marina

Highlight • Settlement

For centuries, the inhabitants of Punat made a living selling olives, wine and figs. Small buildings with steep stairs along the slopes still testify to this today. In the old town of Punat there are numerous narrow, winding streets that give the place a special charm. Source: kroati.de

The three crosses are at the end of a crossroads with 14 saints mosaics. There is a rest area - but without shadow - with wonderful views of Punat, the monastery island Kosljun and the harbor entrance.

The parish church was built in 1777. The church contains a baptismal font, altars, organs, various relics and many paintings and statues of saints. Vetta
June 3, 2026, Bike Path from Road 102/104 Junction to Punat

The only "real" cycle path (real = asphalted + separated from car traffic) that I encountered on Krk. Otherwise: either gravel in all variations from pleasant to extremely rough and rocky to stony single-trails, partly through dense undergrowth, or hilly roads. The main arteries (state roads like D102, D104, etc.) are otherwise narrow and busy and the Croatians as drivers are rather "tense", to put it mildly. The cycle path is therefore a blessing and it would be great if more were built. Ideally, completely along the state roads.

Currently (June 13, 2024) there is unfortunately no cross there. But the climb is still worth it for the view!

A very nice way to get an overview of the holiday resort of Punat is the Calvary Trail, which leads to the Tri krizi (three crosses). From the Tri krizi you have a wonderful view over Punat, the entire Puntarska draga bay with the island of Kosljun and the town of Krk. The path, which is signposted, starts at the first station, which is right next to the main road to Stara Baska. From the starting point to the Tri Krizi you walk uphill, but it takes about 15 minutes at a leisurely pace.
