Above the town, at the top of Dinara Mountain ⛰️, are the ancient remains of the 15th-century Starigrad Fortress, an important strategic location during the pirate era 🏴☠️. Two different paths lead up. Once at the top, you are rewarded with a breathtaking view 👀. The view over the estuary, the sea, the mountains, and the town is indescribable 🤩. The entrance fee is €3.50 (as of June 2026). If you get thirsty from the climb, you can buy a cold water for €2 👍🏼. The castle tower is accessible via a ladder. It is strongly recommended to wear sturdy shoes and avoid the midday heat.
