After a wonderful bike ride, I reached the church in Pszczonów – a truly historic site, as it was the setting for the adaptation of Reymont's novel "Chłopi" (The Peasants). The interior of this church, rich in history – dating back to the 15th and 16th centuries, with numerous renovations and Baroque polychrome – gained a new dimension thanks to the film adaptation. In the 1972 film adaptation, directed by Jan Rybkowski, alongside excellent actors – Władysław Hańcza (Maciej Boryna), Ignacy Gogolewski (Antek Boryna), Emilia Krakowska (Jagna), Krystyna Królówna (Hanka) – residents of Lipce Reymontowskie, Pszczonów, and Słupia also appeared as extras. They brought costumes, props, interiors, and the dialect of bygone times – making the adaptation incredibly authentic and vivid. This is a story truly worth seeing, especially since "The Peasants" is not only one of the greatest Polish novels but also a work by Nobel laureate Reymont – full of rich literary and social context and a profound portrayal of the countryside. The film adaptation captures its spirit and the vibrant folk culture; it is a true tribute to national tradition and the life of the ancient countryside.

A city park located in the central part of the city on both sides of the Skierniewka (Łupia) River. The beginnings of the park date back to the 14th century. Initially, it was a garden at the archbishops' manor. The park contained cascades, grottos, gazebos, four ponds and terraces on the river bank during the time of Archbishop Antoni Kazimierz Ostrowski. The Skierniewice park was beautified by Ignacy Krasicki, making it similar to the parks in Smolany. In the 18th century, there was an orangery with orange trees, an Italian garden, orchards and vineyards at the Primate's Palace. In the years 1830-1845, the gardens and park were thoroughly rebuilt, creating a landscape park.

The park is adjacent to some of the most important monuments of the city of Skierniewice: the Primate's Palace, the Palace Entrance Gate, and Villa Aleksandria. For almost a hundred years, the Skierniewice park was left to itself. The park was not modernized or improved. It was not until 2012 that a resolution was passed to restore the park's former glory, thanks to, among other things, financial support from the European Union. There was a band shell in the park (closed down in 2013). In place of the closed band shell, a chamber stage was built, which will be able to host, among other things, chamber concerts.

The first station building was built in 1845, the second in 1873, in the English Gothic style with neoclassical interiors, to welcome the Tsar of Russia, who was visiting his residence near Skierniewice. The station building burned down in 1914, renovated according to the plans of Jan F. Heurich, and renovated between 1980 and 2003 in accordance with conservation requirements (plaster on the facades was removed, and the brickwork of the walls was exposed). On August 1, 1944, German Bahnschutz officers burned a wagon at the station containing the bodies of prisoners who had been suffocated during a transport from Pawiak. As it turned out, among the dead were also living people hiding among the dead, posing as corpses in hopes of avoiding transport to a concentration camp. A monument to Stanisław Wokulski, designed by Robert Sobociński, was erected on the platform in 2010.

The oldest information about the church in Słupia comes from 1388. In the privilege of granting the village office in Słupia, issued on April 24, 1388 by the metropolitan archbishop of Gniezno, Bodzanta, we read that the village mayor Mikołaj, who received the office, was to pay tithes to "the rector of the church in Słupia, where he listens to the Holy Mass and receives the sacraments of the church". This is the first mention of the church, and although it was not specified as a parish church, it can be assumed that it was the seat of the parish. From the visitation of the property of the Archdiocese of Gniezno and the Gniezno Chapter from 1511, conducted by the Gniezno canon Klemens Busieński, we learn that in that year the church in Słupia was already the seat of a parish (est in eadem villa ecclesia parochialis), so the information about the foundation of the parish in Słupia only in 1548, given in the Annals of the Warsaw Archdiocese from 1958, is incorrect. This description – about the economic state of the Gniezno archbishopric – is the first full compendium of knowledge about the economic situation of Słupia and the surrounding villages, at least in the part belonging to the Gniezno archbishopric. The first description of the church and parish from 1520 mentions the church of St. Nicholas, the right of gift of which was held by the metropolitan archbishop of Gniezno.

The parish in Pszczonów was probably established at the turn of the 13th and 14th centuries, certainly before 1366. From the records of the Gniezno Chapter we learn that the metropolitan archbishop of Gniezno, Jarosław Bogoria Skotnicki, having established the wójt in Pszczonów and having sold it in 1366 to a certain Tomasz, obliged him to pay the local priest a tithe according to the guidelines. In the 15th century, the metropolitan archbishop of Gniezno, Jakub of Sienna, the primate of Poland (1474-1480), built a second church, dedicated to All Saints and St. Dorothy, virgin and martyr. The church in Pszczonów is known from the film adaptation of Reymont's "Chłopi" - it was there that Maciej Boryna and Jagna were married.

The Primate's Palace - a palace and park complex built in the years 1610-1619 in Skierniewice. In the 18th century it was rebuilt and renovated several times. The palace received its final shape in 1780 according to the design of Efraim Schroeger. Two axes were added from the east. The facade and interior layout were reworked. A chapel and gallery were added. In the 19th century, the palace was expanded, adding neo-Renaissance features, and it regained its late Baroque appearance during renovation in the 1960s. The interiors are well-preserved with diverse details and stucco decoration. The chapel and the billiard room with a coffered ceiling and a ceiling by Antoni Blank depicting the mythological goddess of dawn - Jutrzenka (Aurora) are particularly noteworthy.
