A monument commemorating the victims of the 1937 peasant strike, in which 15 people died. The difficult situation in the countryside in the pre-war period meant that members of the Peasant Party, led by their leader Wincenty Witos, were harassed and imprisoned for defending their rights. This forced Witos to leave Poland. This did not discourage the peasants of Majdan, who remained in constant contact with their leader and, after he and the Peasant Party Congress decided to introduce the Peasant Strike (August 16-25, 1937), implemented it in their area. On the last day of the strike, as a large gathering of peasants prepared to submit a petition to the state authorities, tragedy struck. The Blue Police used firearms against them. Fifteen people died on the spot, including a small child. To commemorate this event, on the 50th anniversary in August 1987, a monument depicting a man with raised arms protecting a mother and her dying child was erected at the site of the tragedy, by the road in the center of the village. How attached the peasants were to their leader Wincenty Witos in Majdan Sieniawski is evidenced by the fact that after his death in 1945, at the initiative of the then mayor Mikołaj Marczak, a cross was erected in his honour, on which a lime board with the inscription was placed: "To the Leader of the Polish People Wincenty Witos - the peasants of Majdan Sieniawski". The cross was located at the entrance to the village, on the right side of the intersection. However, after a short time, on the orders of the Internal Security Corps, the inscription was removed from it. The current one, standing in the same place, was renovated in 1985 at the initiative of the local parish priest, and the removed inscription returned only in 2010 - on the 65th anniversary of Witos' death. It was placed on a new granite slab placed in front of the cross. Thus, the long-standing dreams of the Majdan peasants about permanently maintaining the memory of their leader and three-time Prime Minister of Poland, whose merits for the village and the nation have been repeatedly confirmed, have come true. The Church of St. John the Baptist was built in 1753. It was founded by Adam Czartoryski as a parish church for the Roman Catholic rite. In 1788, the Austrian authorities transformed the church into a Greek Catholic church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross. In this rite, the church was used for worship until 1947. In the 1950s, it was converted into a state farm warehouse.
