A unique technique, as if rubbing smoked boards, but quite durable. Worth seeing.

The most interesting part of the monastery is the "defense church" of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Originally built between 1503 and 1511, it was one of the few churches of its kind on the Byzantine periphery—architecturally combining elements of Western Gothic and Eastern Byzantine culture. On July 21, 1944, the church, along with most of the significant buildings in Supraśl, was destroyed by German troops. Reconstruction of the church, based on the preserved foundations, took over 30 years, and it was finally consecrated in 2021.

This is truly extraordinary. I don't think I've ever seen anything like this before. There's a huge lying trunk of a Scots pine tree by the road, which was 350 years old when it was blown over by a strong wind in 1979. In 1981 it was brought and laid here - especially for you! Look at the characteristically interwoven fibers. What can you not find!

Some people think that a swamp is a horror and can't be beautiful, but this one is really beautiful and right by the road: trees immersed in water and the sun shining through the leaves - something fantastic. It's really worth stopping here for a few moments.

Most of the rest areas at Green Velo are well maintained and are always worth stopping by for a short break. In summer and when the weather is bad, having a roof over your head is very nice.
