The fortified settlement in Suraż is a remnant of one of the oldest settlements in Podlasie, picturesquely situated on the Narew River. Built in the 9th century, it served as an important defensive and administrative center, and today you can see clearly outlined earthen ramparts and moats. The place is interesting for cyclists looking for peaceful routes with views of the Narew Valley, and a short walk around the settlement allows you to feel the atmosphere of old times.

"The BTL was officially established in 1953, when the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage granted it a subsidy and the status of a professional stage with the charming name Świerszcz. However, its tradition dates back to pre-war times, when in 1937 an amateur puppet theatre was established in Białystok, its founders were Helena Pacewicz and Piotr Sawicki, who later became the first manager of the BTL. The theatre was nationalised in 1960. In 1972, the Adult Stage was established (the first in Poland). The Puppet Theatre Acting School was established in 1974 (later transformed into the Department of Puppet Art at the Warsaw State Theatre School). In the years 1975–1979, the first building in Poland designed specifically for puppet theatre was erected. It houses three stages: a large stage (200 seats), a small stage (100 seats) and a rehearsal room (40 seats)." - source. Wikipedia, accessed 13.01.2025 Theatre website: https://www.btl.bialystok.pl

In the ice cream shop they have good Italian ice cream, granita and a few others. On the ice cream shop we have a nice mural with the name of the ice cream shop. A nice place where you can also sit in the shade.
