Tips from the Community

Endriu XC
October 21, 2025, Schronisko PTTK na Równicy

The former PTTK Mountain Shelter on Równica, now known as the Równica Guesthouse, is a facility with a rich history, nestled in a picturesque clearing at an altitude of 758 meters above sea level. It has been serving tourists since the 1920s and once even hosted President Ignacy Mościcki. Today, after a thorough renovation, it retains its regional charm and serves as an important hub for hiking trails (including the red GSB trail) and a popular viewing point. Although it has lost its formal status as a PTTK mountain shelter, it still offers stylish accommodations and regional cuisine, making it an ideal place to relax and enjoy the mountain atmosphere. The guesthouse can be reached both on foot via numerous trails and conveniently by car via the paved road from Ustroń.

Stunning views of the surrounding area from the observation tower on Wielka Czantoria. Czantoria itself is the highest peak in the Cieszyn Beskids (995 m), and now add the tower's 29 meters.

Polana Budzin (596 m above sea level) is a picturesque clearing located in the Silesian Beskids, near Czantoria. It is a great resting point on running and trekking routes, offering beautiful views of the nearby peaks and valleys. Thanks to its location, it is a good place to relax before continuing your climb to Wielka Czantoria. The trails leading through the clearing are steep in places and can be muddy after rain, so it is worth having good trail shoes.

Wielka Czantoria is one of the most popular places for mountain runs and trips in the Silesian Beskids, with an attractive approach from both Ustroń and the Czech Nýdek. The route to the summit is about 5 km long in one direction and offers demanding approaches, technical descents and beautiful views of the surrounding ranges. At the top, there is a viewing tower, a shelter and the possibility of replenishing supplies. Light trail shoes with aggressive tread will be best for the route, because in wet weather the trail can be slippery and the rocks treacherous.

Chata Grabowa is a charming shelter located in the heart of the Silesian Beskids, ideal for lovers of mountain hiking and fairy-tale atmosphere. The cottage is located at an altitude of 850 m above sea level, at the foot of the Grabowa peak and offers beautiful views of the surrounding mountain ranges, which can be admired from a large terrace. A unique feature of this place is the "Fairytale Garden" with sculptures of characters from the legends and tales of the Silesian Beskids. You can get there by the Fairytale Trail of the Drowned Man from Brenna, which makes the trip attractive also for families with children. Due to changing weather conditions, especially in autumn and winter, it is worth taking care of warm clothing and trekking shoes.
