In the late 1960s, sand was mined in this place. In 1968, sand digging was completed, and after a few years the excavation was flooded with water. In 1973, the reservoir was transformed into a drainless lake. Its capacity is 1.5 million m³ and the area is 90.3 ha (Wikipedia)
