On the way to the lost place. There will soon be a way inside. Unfortunately, I was a bit too early.

You can walk around behind the Fürstenau upper lock, but you should wear sturdy shoes. It can be a bit slippery on the slope. Caution: Pigeons live in the lock; don't be alarmed, they only flutter around when disturbed.

Beautifully situated, small and cozy, it's the perfect place to relax and unwind in peace. After a bike ride, you can watch the boats for a bit. Unfortunately, there are no restaurants.

The entire complex is tightly fenced and, according to the manager, can be visited on weekdays during the GR farm's working hours.

Baron Julius von Braun, the starost of Gierdawski County, married to Klara von Belov, née von Borcke, began renovating the estate before World War I. Strongly fascinated by medieval monastic architecture, he decided to build Malbork. Designed by Paul Engler, the complex, including a residential building, was one of Prussia's most interesting architectural concepts. It features a well-preserved entrance gate and three towers, one of which served as a cold storage/icehouse, the other as a water tower with a water tank. The entire project was cost-prohibitive beyond the baron's capabilities, and in 1930 the estate was auctioned off, and some of the buildings, including the residential building, were demolished. Currently, the property is owned by Mr. Wiśniewski (owner of WIPASZ).

In 1889, the manor house was built by Hans Jørgen Rassmussen-Bone, who had purchased the estate three years earlier. Hans arrived from Denmark and, as a land improvement technician, founded a thriving company operating in East Prussia. With the money he earned, he purchased a 414-hectare estate. The manor house is single-story with a usable attic on a high knee wall, which features window openings. The facade is heavily rusticated. In the central section, there is a biaxial projection topped with pinnacles. After Hans's death, the estate passed into the hands of the Hahlweg family and remained until 1945. Currently, the manor house is unused.

Quite impressive, after such a long time. The 5 zloty entrance fee is fine.
