The fountain with three firefighters commemorates the famous oil eruption in Krzywopłoty near Karlino. On December 9, 1980, during the drilling of the Daszewo-1 well, oil and gas erupted under immense pressure and ignited. The burning well was brought under control only after 32 days – about a thousand people participated in the operation, including firefighters, the army, mining rescuers, and specialists from Poland and abroad. Jet engine units were used for extinguishing, among other things, and the damaged installation had to be blown up. The fire was extinguished on January 10, 1981, concluding one of the largest operations of its kind in Europe at the time.

fairly new, smooth asphalt, mostly open field, so it's windy there

Żelbetowy most zbudowano w 1915 r. na przedłużeniu linii Kołobrzeskiej Kolei Wąskotorowej z Pobłocia Wielkiego do Karlina. Kolej korzystała z niego do 1961 r.; sama konstrukcja przetrwała wojnę, a po zamknięciu linii torowisko rozebrano. Około 350 m dalej znajduje się drugi most dawnej wąskotorówki, przerzucony nad jednym z meandrów Parsęty. Dziś oba są częścią asfaltowej trasy rowerowej prowadzącej dawnym nasypem kolejowym.

The building is a remnant of the former farmstead in Kłopotowo, whose buildings were centered around a regular, rectangular courtyard leading towards the manor house. Only a few elements of the complex have survived to this day, including a barn-granary dated in the municipal register of monuments to 1865, a brick fence, and a later brick barn. The manor house itself is younger – Hasso von Wedel built it in 1911.

Nazwa Mostu Warzelniczego przypomina o jednej z najstarszych gałęzi gospodarki Kołobrzegu – pozyskiwaniu soli z miejscowych źródeł solankowych. W średniowieczu działał tu rozbudowany zespół warzelni, a kołobrzeska sól trafiała szlakami handlowymi w głąb Pomorza i Wielkopolski. Dziś most łączy brzegi Parsęty w rejonie portu i Mariny Solnej.

The present manor was built in 1911 by Hasso von Wedel, who had bought the estate in Kłopotowo a year earlier. The building combines modernism with elements of the northern neo-Renaissance; interiors feature preserved painted ceilings, a fireplace, and coffers with zodiac signs, among other things. A characteristic road paved with hexagonal slabs leads from the gate to the manor. Currently, the area is private and during my visit the gate to the manor was closed, so the manor itself could only be viewed from the outside, approaching through the open gate of the estate.

Today's cycle route follows the path of a former narrow-gauge railway. The section from Gościna to Pobłocie Wielkie was opened in 1909, and six years later the line was extended to Karlino. After the railway was decommissioned, the former embankment was used to build an asphalt cycle path, completed in 2012. Today, the section is part of the Old Railway Trail (Starego Kolejowego Szlaku) and allows you to cycle between Gościna and Karlino practically away from car traffic.
