The old German name of the lake is Klückense. After the war, it was changed to Kluki. The new name was officially introduced by regulation in 1955. In 2006, the Commission on Names of Places and Physiographical Objects confirmed the name of Kluki. Despite this, the local residents have "always" called the lake Klukom. Finally, it was decided to straighten out this matter and from January 1, 2022, the lake is officially called Klukom.
