After German reunification After 1991, when the seaside resort was included in the urban development program, huge sums were invested in modernizing the infrastructure. Guest houses, restaurants and hotels returned to private hands and were largely renovated, so that Bansin's townscape increasingly regained its traditionally sophisticated character. In 1997, the community was awarded the title of Baltic Sea health resort. On January 1, 2005, the three Baltic Sea resorts of Ahlbeck, Heringsdorf and Bansin, which had previously been independent communities, were merged to form the community of Dreikaiserbäder. On January 1, 2006, this was renamed Heringsdorf.

Bansin pier This famous beach beauty is one of the more classic examples of its kind: In contrast to the piers in the neighboring towns of Ahlbeck and Heringsdorf, it has neither land nor bridge buildings. - A fact that does not detract from its great popularity, however! Quite the opposite: every year, no matter the weather, numerous visitors take the opportunity to stroll across the Bansin pier to enjoy the healthy Baltic Sea air or take photos of the sea and coast. Since the 1990s, the Bansin pier has been a loyal companion to many day trippers: it takes young and old 285 meters out onto the Baltic Sea and is therefore not the first bridge to give an idea of the pomp and grace of earlier times on the beach of the imperial spa. In fact, a pier was built in the early years. However, as the weather gradually caused the bridge to become dilapidated, it was demolished after the Second World War.
