A chapel in Berschedt was first recorded in 1654, described as a branch church of the Karlshausen parish. The current building was erected in 1773 and served as a parish church from 1808 to 1836. Structurally dilapidated, the chapel was completely renovated inside and out in 1984/85 under the direction of the Südeifel Nature Park Association. Today, Berscheid belongs to the Koxhausen parish.
