Žovnek Castle is located on a small scenic hill to the west, or northwest of Žovneški lake. From the castle, which is currently being renovated (January 2011), we have a beautiful view towards the nearby Grmada, Žovneško lake, part of the Savinjska valley and the Posavina hills.
