I (82) did the tour on Sunday. It was simply beautiful with a fantastic view. I highly recommend a visit to the church in Friesenhagen.

This small sacred monument, standing here on a hill overlooking the village of Friesenhagen, is surrounded by a hedge, creating a small "sacred area," from whose center rises the cross. The stone base bears a plaque with a dedicatory inscription. Several verses honor the cross, "O Cross, be highly blessed...", and commemorate the difficult times of the Second World War. The wooden crossbeams are slightly tapered at the ends and topped with a gabled roof. Round additions are added at the intersection of the longitudinal and transverse beams, forming a circle. The body of the crucified Christ stands out clearly against the dark wood, his head positioned precisely at the crossing point, so that the circle can be interpreted as a (albeit dark) halo.

The St. Rochus Chapel (GPS N50.915980 E7.808405) The 17th century chapel was built in honor of St. Rochus. The name suggests that the plague was raging in the Wildenburg region during or before its construction, because St. Rochus was venerated as a "plague saint." From the Rochus Chapel, located west of the Wildenburg on the high path on the Rollsberg above the village of Wildenburg, you have a good view of the Wildenburg keep.
