A slightly more difficult dirt road to ride, but also easily manageable with a gravel bike.

Located directly on the water, you'll enjoy a magnificent view of the Flensburg Fjord and can watch sailboats, some of which depart from the nearby base of the German Offshore Sports Association HANSA (DHH). The waterfront promenade invites you to take a leisurely picnic break or visit a café before continuing on toward Glücksburg or Flensburg city center. A visit to the DHH's long-established yacht schools, where sailors from all over the world have been trained for almost 100 years, is particularly worthwhile.

This peaceful lake is a small glacial kettle lake tucked away amongst the rolling hills. Remnants of the last ice age, it is a unique piece of geological history.

The Port of Flensburg forms the maritime heart of the city of Flensburg and is located at the end of the Flensburg Fjord. It can be divided into the west side, the east side, and the harbor tip, and boasts impressive historical, industrial, and tourist attractions. On the west side is the picturesque Historic Harbor with the "Alexandra," a historic steamship, and the Museum Harbor, where around twenty traditional museum ships can be seen, including the shark cutter Dagmar Aaen. Maritime events such as the Rum Regatta and the Apple Cruise are regularly held there. The east side houses functional harbor areas: the guest sailing harbor with around 168 berths, offering modern amenities such as electricity and water, as well as the fishing harbor and the industrial harbor with quays for handling coal, fertilizer, grain, and scrap. Flensburger Hafen GmbH operates the entire harbor area and handles large volumes of freight traffic annually. Between the two sides lies the Hafenspitze, an open space that often serves as an event venue or simply invites you to linger – perhaps to play Frisbee or relax by the water.

Lake Niehuuser – also called Niehuussee – is located in the municipality of Harrislee in the Schleswig-Flensburg district, directly on the German-Danish border between Niehuus and Padborg. Nestled in a charming natural landscape, it is a beautiful local recreation destination and invites you to take leisurely walks around the water. The lake is part of the cross-border Krusau Tunnel Valley, a gently rolling landscape with damp valley floors, springs, and alder swamp forests that stretches along the border river Krusau. Accordingly, the area is part of a FFH conservation area and therefore enjoys a high ecological protection status. Visitors can enjoy pleasant hiking and circular trails – such as a 5.6 km route around the lake, which can also be found as a circular hike on platforms such as RouteYou. The western side of the lake already marks the border with Denmark, giving the walk a particularly charming, border-oriented perspective. The lake is particularly popular with photographers – it is considered an atmospheric subject, especially in the evening with its charming light. Furthermore, the ASV Petri Heil Flensburg is committed to accessibility: a barrier-free jetty was recently built, making access to the water easier.

The Flensburg Fjord (Danish: Flensborg Fjord) is an approximately 40 to 50-kilometer-long inlet of the western Baltic Sea and forms the border between Germany (Schleswig-Holstein) and Denmark along its northern and southern sides. Geologically, it was formed by the indentation of a glacial tongue in the inland ice during the Weichselian glaciation. It is classified as a fjord rather than a fjord because its flanks are relatively low. The fjord is divided into two sections: the inner fjord toward Flensburg and the outer fjord, separated by the Holnis peninsula. At its western end, in Flensburg, it flows inland—the westernmost point of the Baltic Sea also lies along this line. Today, the region is an important sporting area, especially for sailors, and hosts major regattas such as the Flensburg Fjord Regatta and the Rum Regatta. Fjord Week, with events for classic yachts, is also part of the regular schedule. The Flensburg Fjord is also attractive for its landscape and tourism. It offers charming shorelines with beaches, steep coastlines, and moraine cliffs, nestled among gentle sandy areas. Nature and culture lovers will find a wealth of destinations along both shores: Flensburg with its historic old town and museum harbor, Glücksburg Castle, the Holnis peninsula with its protected salt marshes and lighthouses, as well as the Geltinger Birk nature reserve and the towns along the northern shore with the Gendarmenpfad (Gendarmen Trail) – a former border path along the Danish border. For centuries, the fjord has been shaped by passenger and freight traffic – historic steamers connected Flensburg with towns on both sides. Today, leisure boating, excursion boats, traditional yachts and marine activities dominate in Mürwik.
