In many places in the Hofer Land - here in Feilitzsch - some places are decorated with Easter bunny families at Easter - nice!

There has been a new museum for about half a year: it is highly interesting and definitely worth a visit.

An almost very beautiful hike, except for one section directly along the Saale River. The path is very narrow and littered with fallen trees, forcing you to climb over or crawl under them. This is all over a distance of about 700-800 meters. It is, however, a regulated and signposted hiking trail. The responsible authorities should really address this before something happens. Absolutely avoid this trail if you have small children with you. Saalenstein Castle looked very interesting to us, but unfortunately, it was all closed. Overall, I would happily recommend the route. If you want to avoid the section with the fallen trees, you can simply return along the same well-paved path.

The Unterkotzau Viaduct, 174 meters long, is located in Unterkotzau. On April 12, 1945, this bridge was the target of an Allied air raid; however, the bombers missed their target, resulting in numerous deaths, especially in a forced labor camp. https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unterkotzau

Zedtwitz Castle is first documented as a castle in 1502. At that time, the Lords of Zedtwitz sold the building to the Lords of Feilitzsch. During the Thirty Years' War, Swedish troops were quartered in Zedtwitz Castle, which led to Croatian troops plundering the building a few years later. For financial reasons, the castle had to be sold. However, it wasn't until 1718 that construction work resumed, giving the building its Baroque appearance. During the Second World War, the owners of Zedtwitz Castle were expelled. After various uses, it was eventually converted into a nursing home, which still exists today. https://burgen-und-schloesser.de/deutschland/bayern/zedtwitz/schloss-zedtwitz/

The Zedtwitz Castle site, also known as Zedtwitz Water Castle, refers to a vanished medieval moated castle in the center of Zedtwitz. From the 13th to the 16th centuries, the castle was the ancestral seat of the von Zedtwitz family. The last remnants of the castle walls were demolished in 1839. https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burgstall_Zedtwitz Two bridges lead to the small island with rest areas.
