Turtmann Hut

Highlight • Mountain Hut

In 1928, the Turtmannhütte was built on a stony grassy ridge at the top of the Turtmann Valley. Here it stands at an altitude of 2,519 meters, making it the perfect base for touring the Brunegg and Turtmann glaciers. In addition, many exciting peaks in sight - including the Barrhorn. The 3,610-meter-high mountain is the highest Swiss peak, which you can climb without high altitude equipment.

Bella-Tola Hut

Highlight • Mountain Hut

The hut is only open in summer from the end of June to mid-September (closed from April to December 2021 for renovation). The hut offers a good view of the Val d’Anniviers with the villages of Grimentz and Vercorin on the opposite side of the valley and of the wide Rhône valley to the west. Cabane des Aiguilles Rouges

Highlight • Mountain Hut

Good mountain hut with modern extension and acceptable food ... ideal as a stopover for the ascent of the Mont de l'Etoile.

Bishorn Summit

Highlight • Summit

Very nice, rarely full of people and fairly easy hike. Just before the cabin you'll need to do a bit of climbing and use chains. About 4-5 hours to the Tracuit hut, then breakfast at 5:00 and 2-3 hours to reach the summit. You can be back in time for an epic rösti at the hut. Lastly, all the way down to Zinal on the West side, walk past the water, it's a change of scenery and you'll reach a lovely meadow for a quick nap.

Blue Lake

Beautiful, blue shining mountain lake ... unfortunately totally overcrowded in high season. But still worth seeing.

A classic Swiss Alpine mountain cabin, with an equally classic view. The hut is a great place to take a coffee and cake break during a bike ride, or to enjoy something refreshing after a long day in the mountains. The cabin offers food, drinks and accommodation, allowing you to extend the adventure for a day if you don't want it to end so soon. I recommend booking in advance, as shelters can often get very busy during peak months. Check out their website for more details: https://cabanebellatola.ch/en/homepage/
